During freezing temperatures, pipes can freeze and burst. Here’s how to prevent this:
- Pipe Insulation
Use foam pipe wraps or fiberglass insulation to protect exposed pipes, especially metal and plastic ones. - Keep Water Flowing
Let faucets drip slightly overnight to prevent freezing. Moving water is less likely to freeze. - Electronic Pipe Heating
If pipes frequently freeze, consider installing heating tape that automatically warms them when needed.
